Words and Phrases...go away!

Words are mostly beautiful things. But, like all things of beauty, some words and phrases that become banal clichés creep into our vocabulary that should, in my opinion, be stricken from the language. 

Here's my list:

Golf shot (a word of explanation: golf announcers use the term to describe a good shot. Hey! It's a golf match, what other kind of shot would it be?)

Speaking of golf: there's always at least one fan in the crowd who, when observing a 200-yard tee shot on a 500+ yard hole, screams enthusiastically "In the hole!"
